blog:4 The Allegory of the Cave

"The Allegory of the Cave" explains a weekness of humanity which is about choosing to believe the illusion but not the truth. The author used a story to support his point of veiw. He used the "cave" and "light" to express the connection between the illusion and truth.
In the story, there was a group of prisoners who were not able to see anything behind them and what they could see was only the shadows. When one prisoner was released, he was able to see the real world. He went back to the cave and told everyone who hadn't see the real things. No one believed him, because every one lived in the cave all believed that the reality was what they saw on the wall.

  1. Hello my name is Anna Purpura.

I believe you got the basic idea of the story and your way of explaining it was good and to the point. You are good with punctuation and no run-on sentences which is common, especially for me.

For a summary you really have to write about what is in the story. When you said "ti see their back" it would sound proper if it said 'behind'. You mentioned "some prisoners" when it was only one, and in your next sentence you reverted back to it being a singular person. Also when you had said "see the real things" it should be 'seen'.

  2. Hi, my name is Irene Luisa form English 101.

I agree with Anna about your blog. You had an idea of what the story was about but didn't go in depth as much I would've liked. Be careful of your spelling and grammar. Also, there wasn't a main idea for the story. which would throw a reader off, because they wouldn't know what stand you were trying to take. Next time, create a main idea for your summary to support. Watch out for your grammar and spelling. Make your essay a little longer. We are all not perfect writing a blog in class. We could all use a little help now and then. Hope this helps,
